Tonight at 106 West Purple Stain (a local Winder favorite) played one final show. Purple Stain is like contempory christian set to funky porn background music, occasionally broken up by hard rock and bad rap. Yeah.
Milton and I exchanged these comments on a pad of paper:
Jenna: “Damn Jesus Music.”
Milton: “Jesus + Rapping White Boy + Hardcore Porn Music = Purple Stain”
Jenna: “Jesse = such a whore”
Milton: “Good thing this is a reunion or it might just be sad.”
But the absolute best one was out loud:
Milton: “You get comedy, music and worship! WHOO!”
YES.
Best song introductions:
Jamie: “You know when you write a song, and it doesn't really make sense to anybody but it makes sense to you, and you just...... anyway, well then you put a chorus on that doesn't really go with it? That's this song.”
Jesse: “Do any of you guys like POD?”
Audience: “NO!”
Jamie kept putting his hat in front of his face like he was ashamed or something. Of course, I'm sure that wasn't the case.
Yeah.
However, to their credit, Jesse puts all his freaking energy into a show, so it is surprisingly entertaining, and he is a PR machine, because everyone and thier mother was in attendence.
