Jenna's House of Idiosyncrasies Version 10.0 [Focus.]

So, I'm sick of surveys. I never thought I would say that but I am. They all seem to have the same questions after a while, and I am forced to give the same answers that at first seemed clever but now have formed into a trite mutation of themselves, as well as an excuse to not really write anymore. So until I see another original one, I think I am easing myself out of them.

It should be noted that what follows is not a survey.

I was inspired by this girl to dig up my 100_facts_about_me list from this place, revise it and publish it for you here. Enjoy, and if you feel so inclined, publish a similar list in your own journal.

It's much harder than you think.

1. I used to spend all of my leisure time on the internet, but now I'm usually like, "What leisure time?"

2. In high school I was a tv junkie but now rarely I watch tv
3. I don't smoke
4. I drink on occassion
5. I like rum, raspberry vodka, and Southern Comfort, but not together
6. I love to cook
7. I'm a very picky eater
8. I am obsessed with music
9. I live with five people in a loft apartment in downtown Athens above a bar
10. I've already managed to fall and really hurt myself on one of the loft ladders.
    I'm okay now. Mostly.

11. I am taking a jazz dance class taught by my roommate Allison
12. I work for Digital Insight and maintain websites for financial institutions across the the country.
13. I go to University of Georgia, where I am currently a provisional major in the Lamar Dodd School of Art
14. I LOVE concerts
15. I fish for compliments, even though I don't usually realize that's what I'm doing.
16. I drink cherry coke and vanilla coke, but not coke
17. My parents won a trip to Paris when I was 2 and took me with them, so the only time I've ever been out of the usa I can't even remember.
18. I have a dog. Her name is Ginger, and she is very smart. She's a goldie/lab/chow/other mutt. She's very loyal and protective too. She lives in Winder and I miss her very much.
19. I also have a fish named Will who lives here in Athens with me. He was obviously a good choice because my roommates are enchanted with him.
20. I was French Student of the Year my senior year of high school. I can hardly remember any of my french now.
21. I love sleeping, because I have great dreams.
22. I wear the label "geek" like a badge of honor.
23. My friends are the most important people in the world
24. I like book stores.
25. I love record stores.
26. I have my own web design business and I consider designing my artistic forte.
27. I also like to write, although it is mostly sarcastic or whiny and not very artistic at all.
28. I've been told I'm "wise" because I give good advice, nobody seems to mind my lack of life experience.
29. I have the habit of implying I have far more life experience than I actually do.
30. I like to take bits of AIM conversations and make them into away messages, so if you say something snarky or funny or especially something that is complimentary to me you might end up in one.
31. Sometimes I like to talk on AIM all night. Not in a dirty way. In a nice way.
32. I feel one should not have regrets, because it's experience that makes you who you are, and you wouldn't be the same person without those things you "regret".
33. I have really great hair.
34. I love to sing.
35. I have massive, hands-shaking, butterflies-in-the-stomach stage fright, but I'm working on it. It gets less and less the more compliments I get.
36. I am an insomniac.
37. I have 10+ rolls of film I need to get developed.
38. I am much more superficial than most people would like to think.
39. I generally surround myself with beautiful people so I have nice things to look at, also I become more attractive by association.
40. The majority of my friends are male.
41. I love Gap commercials, but I've never shopped at the Gap.
42. I absolutely love giving gifts, including buying people dinner or taking them out. Hardly anything makes me feel as warm and fuzzy.
43. I don't have a car, and currently have no plans to own a car.
44. I smoke pot on occassion.
45. My favorite bands encompass an ever-evolving list that is never complete and never static. Do not ask me what kind of music I listen too. I have never found that to be a good conversation starter, except with some Opiates.
46. I have a special fondness for places open 24/7 (i.e. The Majestic on Ponce, The Grill on College, Waffle House)
47. I miss my big sister everyday. She lives several states away and has for most of my life.
48. I am overprotective of my younger sister. My friends say I act like a "big brother" even though I am a girl. I have to though, she is smart and funny and gorgeous.
49. My parents are not divorced. That makes me the last of rare breed, as I understand it. It is also a miracle that my parents haven't gotten divorced.
50. I like watching Wes Anderson movies over and over. They give me a certain amount of comfort.
51. I go between believing I am a genius to wishing I was a genius
52. Some people tell me I have a really natural sense of rhythm.
53. I really prefer gray days to sunny days. They seem more pensive, less frantic.
54. I share my birthday with Michelangelo.
55. Procrastination is my favorite past time.
56. I love hugs.
57. I love people that hug like they mean it.
58. I love, love when someone gives you a hug without you asking for it.
59. I need someone to rub my shoulders right now.
60. I really used to aspire to live in Chandler Park (Atlanta) someday, but right now I think I am in pretty big danger of becoming a permanent fixture in Athens. We'll see how I really feel when I finally manage to graduate.
61. I've always wanted a surprise party but there's no way to ask for one.
62. I hate when people sing happy birthday to me. I really hate it.
63. I used to read a lot but find I don't have the time anymore.
64. I subscribe to two magazines: Blender and Wired.
65. I don't let people borrow my CDs.
66. I consider myself a pretty agressive driver, with just a touch of some serious road rage.
67. I can't concentrate when driving without music.
68. I am afraid of heights. This hasn't stopped me from spending every night sleeping ten feet in the air.
69. If someone doesn't stop me I will just talk to fill silences.
70. For whatever reason I love to talk about myself and I think sometimes I make people hear stories they would rather not hear.
71. I wear contacts, without them I am quite blind.
72. I wear a lot of jewelry to cover up how plain I really am.
73. I don't like it when women put men down. I love men, they're not "dogs" or "pigs". Some of them are evil, granted, but so are many women. We are even in that facet. Trust me.
74. I love men desperately, and I love everything about men.
75. I have a terrible weakness for musicians, especially guitar players. And if you are any good, it's all over.
76. I think I have what is sometimes described as an addictive personality. Someone should confirm this for me.
77. My oldest friend is Maggie, who I have known for about a decade now.
78. I moved around a lot as a kid, making it hard to form long-term friendships with people.
79. By the time I got to middle school I had moved 5 times. Maybe this is why I have no strong desire to travel.
80. I was a very shy child, and kept to myself a lot.
81. You would probably never think that if you know me now.
82. Me and my younger sister are very close, and when we were younger we had games that we couldn't properly explain to anyone, because they had taken years to really take shape.
83. I laugh way too much. Other people like it but it annoys the hell outta me.
84. I go by Jenna, Jen-Jen, Jen, Blue eyes, and most recently, Jen-nah-nah-nah.
85. Between my younger sister, my father, and myself, we could act out the movie Three Amigos from memory.
86. I often say things that seem to make no sense in context but I usually arrived at the statement from a very long and complicated train of thought.
87. I've been in one serious car accident. I was 14. I was gone from school for more than a week. No one noticed. Not one person had missed me.
88. In middle school I played up this "Jenna is crazy" thing I had going on, and I used to have five imaginary friends, all named George, that had to sit with me at the lunch table. They weren't real to me, thank goodness.
89. I spent every lunch of my freshman of high school year sitting at a table by myself, reading.
90. The first album I ever truly loved and connected with was Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club. My mother bought it for my for a birthday. Back then I still didn't have a CD player and just listened to that tape over and over again on my walkman.
91. I have a lot of family in California, including my older sister and most of the people on my mom's side of the family.
92. I have been to Cali three times in the last ten years.
93. The only thing I like about California is In-n-Out Burger, which is freaking awesome.
94. I miss my high school art class. I was with a great group of people.
95. I have self destructive tendencies.
96. I am selfish.
97. If you ask me a question, I'll be terribly long-winded about my answer, augmenting it with qualifiers and explanations.
98. I have the type of personality where it is impossible to pick favorites.
99. I don't know what I am religiously, but I have spent the past five years figuring out what I am not, and that includes Christian.
100. Despite this I am still very soothed by the dude who preaches on the library quad on Wednesday mornings. His voice is very kind.
